US Lifts Laptop Ban On Emirates And Turkish Airlines
[Image: Emirates-770x432.jpg]

The US has lifted its electronics ban from flight cabins on two more middle eastern airlines. Both Emirates and Turkish Airlines passengers can now keep their laptops and other devices with them while traveling. This follows the lifting of the ban from Etihad Airways earlier in the week.

New screening requirements have been put in place by the US Department of Homeland Security, although it is unknown what these are. Etihad was thought to be a special case as there is a US Customs and Border Control station in Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Saudia has said that it is in the process of implementing the new screening procedures, and is hoping to get the ban lifted by 19 July. Qatar Airways has said that the ban is still in place, but has not shared whether it is working on the new procedures. Admittedly, the situation is a little different for Qatar as it is currently dealing with a more pressing diplomatic spat with its neighbours.

Despite the lifting of the US ban, these airlines are still subject to a similar restriction when flying into the UK. The United Kingdom has not moved to lift any bans as of yet, and it is unknown if it is talks to implement its own security requirements.
